What We Expect From You

The following guidelines will help set expectations for what we expect from you and what you can expect from us.
  1. Application Guidelines
  2. Interview Preparation
  3. Phone and Video Interviews
  4. Take-Home Assignments
  5. What you can expect from us

1. Applying to a Job

Using AI tools to help structure your resume is acceptable. However, the content you submit must accurately represent your skills, experience and qualifications.  Misrepresentation WILL lead to disqualification.
  • Refining Writing: Draft your own thoughts first, then use AI to enhance clarity, organization, and phrasing.
  • Spelling and Grammar: For most roles, we’re NOT going to judge you if you misspell a word, but we know you want to put your best foot forward, and AI can help.
  • Don’t Fabricate or Exaggerate Content: Don’t use AI to fabricate or overstate your skills and experiences.
  • Don’t Copy & Paste AI Output: Don’t paste AI-generated text directly into your resume or any application questions, as it often appears generic.
Important Tips:
  • Be prepared to discuss every aspect of your application during interviews.
  • Always anonymize personal information before inputting data into AI tools to maintain privacy.
  • Overuse of AI-generated writing sounds, well, non-human, and makes it harder to get to know you and your writing style.

2. Interview Preparation

Preparing for your interview is important, and AI can be a helpful tool, but know the line between preparation and candidate fraud.
  • Practice Tools: AI can be helpful in preparing for your interview.
  • Industry Research: AI can help you stay updated on industry trends relevant to your role.
  • Don’t Use Scripted Responses: Don’t use AI to generate rehearsed answers; we want to know how you think, in your own words. Also, follow-up questions will be pretty challenging when we start diving deeper.
  • Don’t Memorize AI Responses: Interviewers will easily identify responses that lack genuine understanding.
Interviewers WILL end the interview early if candidate fraud is suspected.

3. Phone and Video Interviews

Our interviews are designed to evaluate your skills, experiences, and interpersonal abilities. We seek to understand how you would contribute to the Article and how aligned to the Article Way you are.
  • On-Camera Presence: For video interviews, your camera must be on unless otherwise specified.
  • Verification: We may ask you to show ID during video interviews, or turn your camera around to ensure you’re the only person in the room and no one is assisting you.
  • Privacy Considerations: Candidate recording or transcription of interviews is prohibited due to confidentiality.
  • Genuine Responses: Be prepared to discuss your real skills and experiences without AI assistance.
  • No AI Assistance/ Coaching: Don’t use AI tools to generate or reference answers during interviews.
    • Suspected use of AI assistants/coaches WILL result in disqualification.

4. Take-Home Assignments

Unless agreed upon or explicitly explained in the instructions, assignments should reflect your own insights and perspectives, not AI-generated content. Typically, the follow-up interviews will dive not only into the results assignment, but how you came to those results.

5. What you can expect from us

As an applicant, it’s important to understand that we do not use AI or algorithmic keyword matching for resume ranking. AI does not make hiring decisions. All hiring decisions are made by humans to ensure fairness and transparency.

Our Talent Acquisition team only uses AI to:
  • Write inclusive job postings.
  • Edit emails and communication templates.
  • Create content that reflects our employee brand.
