Scam Jobs/ Recruitment Fraud

Version: 1.1
Date: June 6,  2025

We’ve recently seen fraudulent activity involving individuals impersonating Article.com or our parent company, Trademango Solutions Inc (or misspellings such as Trade Mango Inc, Trade Mango Co, etc.)

What Is Recruitment Fraud?

Recruitment fraud is a type of scam where individuals or groups impersonate employers and offer fake job opportunities to solicit payment or personal information for financial gain.

These bad actors often use the company’s name (or parent company name), branding, logos, and even real employee names without authorization.

Scammers may ask for money under the guise of processing fees, training costs, equipment deposits (e.g., laptops or uniforms), or other fabricated expenses.

Common Signs of Recruitment Fraud

Common Signs of Recruitment Fraud

  1. Fake job postings on job boards or social media, mimicking legitimate roles
  2. Communication from unofficial email domains (e.g., @gmail.com, @hotmail.com)
  3. Requests for payment for training, equipment, or background checks
  4. High-pressure tactics demanding fast decisions or actions
  5. Offers extended without interviews, or conducted via text or non-secure platforms

How to Protect Yourself

  1. Never pay to apply, interview, or accept a job at Article. We do not ask for money at any stage.
  2. Do not download any third-party apps as part of the recruitment process.
  3. Ignore messages from anyone claiming to be from Article who requests payment or personal information.
  4. Be cautious when sharing personal data. Always verify who you’re speaking with.
  5. Trust your instincts — if the process feels off (e.g., text-only interviews, vague role descriptions), stop and double-check.

What Article Will Not Do

  1. Post jobs under the name “Trademango Solutions Inc.” or any other related entity
  2. Ask you to install or register on third-party apps for recruitment
  3. Request banking or financial information during hiring
  4. Extend offers without conducting interviews with real Article team members
  5. Use free email services (Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook, etc.) for recruitment communication
  6. Conduct interviews via SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, or similar platforms
  7. Use AI Interview bots, voice or video. Interviews are conducted by real Article team members
